Human beings might be capable of doing a lot, but what we still do the best is grow on a consistent basis. This unfaltering commitment towards getting better, no matter the situation, has brought the world some huge milestones, with technology emerging as quite major member of the stated group. The reason why we hold technology in such a high regard is, by and large, predicated upon its skill-set, guided us towards a reality that nobody could have ever imagine otherwise. Nevertheless, if we look beyond the surface for one hot second, it will become clear how the whole runner was also very much inspired from the way we applied those skills across a real world environment. The latter component, in fact, did a lot to give the creation a spectrum-wide presence, and as a result, initiated a full-blown tech revolution. Of course, the next thing this revolution did was to scale up the human through some outright unique avenues, but even after achieving a feat so notable, technology will somehow continue to bring fort the right goods. The same has turned more and more evident in recent times, and assuming one new construction-themed development ends up with the desired impact, it will only put that trend on a higher pedestal moving forward.
Hilti North America, a global leader providing innovative tools, software, and services to the commercial construction industry, has officially announced the launch of new tools for its 22V Nuron battery platform to expand portfolio and offer greater value through the company’s subscription tool service, Fleet Management. Available for demo at World of Concrete, the new innovations begin from SC 6WP-22 Plunge saw, which is designed for more precise cutting in wood, fiber board, drywall, and solid surfaces, including straight and bevel cuts, and intricate cut-outs. Set to hit the market in the fall of 2024, the 6 ½ saw has been specifically engineered for optimal cutting speed and dust collection efficiency to ensure it arrives as a safer and more productive plunge cutting option. From what we know so far, the SC 6WP-22 will run along Hilti’s 55″ track, but at the same time, it will remain fully compatible with other other tracks currently on the market. Next up, we have SM 60-22 Miter saw, a compound 12″ miter saw designed for precision cutting in wood, PVC, and aluminum. This one comes decked up with easily accessible controls across the entire saw, and a dark shadow cut line to help make sure cuts can be done quickly and accurately. Furthermore, it also features all-in-one front handle controls and a small footprint without mandating the need for extra back space. Then, there is EXO-T-22 tool balancer. The EXO-T-22 tool balancer is, in effect, a wearable, backpack-like device that helps workers perform wall breaking with less physical exertion. The less exertion is notably achieved on the back of an ergonomical design, as well as a build which is suitable for heavy demolition work. To give you a concrete picture, the Nuron-powered EXO-T-22 helps you take the weight of a tool up to 37 pounds, and alongside that, it also enables you to suspend the tool in a zero gravity like state, distributing its weight across the hips and ground, and at the same time, reducing strain on the upper body. The development in question also brings to the fore this DGH 130-22 Concrete finishing grinder, which is optimized to use less effort for concrete surface finishing and grinding. It achieves the same through a variable speed brushless 5″ grinder that removes almost two times more material per charge to make concrete wall finishing and chamfering faster and more productive. Joining the pack is an integrated dust shroud and unique palm style operation to facilitate more accurate and effortless movement during the grinding process. There is also a safety angle in play where you have a specialized sensor that automatically turns off the tool in case of an accidental drop.
“Our sole focus has always been to bring highly innovative solutions to the construction industry. These solutions are designed to increase productivity and improve worker safety,” said Mike McGowan, Region Head and CEO of Hilti North America. “Our newest solutions are just another step in helping make construction better.”
Hold on, there is more, considering we still haven’t discussed SIW 10-22 3/4 high torque impact wrench which lets you access more run time using Nuron batteries. Leveraging a high-efficiency brushless motor and impact mechanism, the stated wrench is able to deliver a flat 85% more torque than its predecessor, all while staying more compact. Hilti also took this opportunity to launch a TE 50-22 Combi hammer with Active Vibration Reduction (AVR) and Active Torque Control (ATC). This one again is a lot about providing users with longer runtimes, doing so in conjunction with greater safety and comfort, and broader versatility at the jobsite. On top of it, when you place the tool alongside Hilti’s TE-YX drill bits, it delivers best-in-class performance by giving users 30% faster drilling speeds at a weight of just over 12 lbs. Rounding up the highlights is an SF 10W-22 drill driver, which makes a point to fetch the power of a corded drill to Hilti’s compact and power class drill category. Manufactured using four gears, the SF 10W-22 can handle demanding jobs like drilling deep or large diameter holes in wood and metal. Such a performance enhancement, of course, is enhanced through better run time and user safety.
Among other details, we must mention how, with all the batteries and chargers working together under a single ecosystem, the whole development cuts back on complexity for tool cribs and simplifies the process of maintaining fixed monthly costs.
Founded in 1941, Hilti North America has today reached a point where it employs more than 3,800 highly trained Hilti account managers, engineers, and other workers across the given region. This workforce, riding on the company’s technical innovations, is helping Hlti retain its stature as a world-leading provider in powder actuated fastening, drilling and demolition, diamond coring and cutting, measuring, firestopping, screw fastening, adhesive and mechanical anchoring, strut and hanger systems, solutions for tool crib productivity, as well as worker health and safety.
