Over the years, many different traits have tried to define human beings, and yet none have done a better job than that tendency of growing on a consistent basis. This tendency to improve, no matter the situation, has empowered the world to clock along the journey some huge milestones, with technology emerging as quite a major member of the group. The reason why we hold technology in such a high regard is, by and large, predicated upon its skill-set, which guided us towards a reality that nobody could have ever imagined otherwise. Nevertheless, if we look beyond the surface for a second, it will become clear how the whole runner was also very much inspired from the way we applied those skills across a real world environment. The latter component, in fact, did a lot to give the creation a spectrum-wide presence, and as a result, initiate a full-blown tech revolution. Of course, this revolution eventually went on to scale up the human experience through some outright unique avenues, but even after achieving a feat so notable, technology will somehow continue to bring forth the right goods. The same has turned more and more evident in recent times, and assuming one new automotive-themed development ends up with the desired impact, it will only put that trend on a higher pedestal moving forward.
DPL Telematics, an industry-leading provider of asset monitoring and telemetry technologies, has officially launched a brand-new AssetView Mid Tracking system, which is designed to facilitate wireless monitor and tracking of powered and unpowered assets. This capability, if found to be scalable enough, can make a huge difference when it comes to better supporting your logistics operations, managing inventory in a rather efficient manner, and curbing instances of theft. Accessible from an internet-based software package and mobile app, the new tracking system comes decked up with a long battery life, boasting a timeframe of almost 10 years on daily updates, and up to 3.5 years on more detailed tracking. Staying on the point of battery framework for another second, the AssetView technology is provided three AA lithium batteries, and guess what, all of them can be easily replaced by customers, if needed. Moving on, the system further delivers at our disposal the necessary means to put together two-way communication, which will cover aspects like dispatching movement alerts over the air and activating recovery mode. Another detail worth a mention would be the system’s waterproof IP68 and IK07 rated designs that ensure it is able to thrive in relatively harsh environments. However, in case the device still faces any safety issues, or even any concerns regarding potential asset abuse, the user can expect to receive immediate notifications, thus prompting a timely counter action.
“The AssetView is the first tracking solution of its kind to offer such a large combination of technologies in a simple final product, delivering long battery life without sacrificing two-way communications and real time alerts. Its small size and affordable price point allow anybody to easily track nearly anything, regardless of its power source,” said Tony Nicoletti, VP of sales and business development at DPL Telematics. “Customers control their monthly subscription with the option to deactivate and reactivate as needed without penalty, which is ideal for seasonal or demand-based usage.”
Hold on, we aren’t done yet, as AssetView also has on the offer a feature where your device can detect nearby Bluetooth tags to achieve extended asset tracking and monitoring. Now, considering how the technology bears so much of that location play, it delivers a strong value proposition in that particular aspect by leveraging multiple satellite constellations like GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS and Beidou. Among other features, there is an ability to track assets across borders, and a feature that lets the device function with very limited light so to allow the user to hide it inside or under most assets. Apart from it, there is also a month-to-month agreement facility available, a facility which eliminates any need to commit to a long-term contract and simplifies the process of reactivating the service without any charges whatsoever.
“Since the AssetView has minimal install time and uses readily available AA batteries, customers can easily replace them anytime they are alerted that its power is getting low.” added Nicoletti. “It is truly both an easy to use and easy to maintain tracking solution for virtually any asset to decrease loss exposure, better manage asset inventories and improve logistics.”
