Human beings have proven themselves as capable in and around a lot of different areas, but nothing they did could surpass their ability to improve at a consistent pace. We say this because the stated ability has already fetched the world some huge milestones, with technology emerging as a major member of the stated group. The reason why we hold technology in such a high regard is, by and large, predicated upon its skill-set, which ushered us towards a reality that nobody could have ever imagined otherwise. Nevertheless, if we look beyond the surface for one hot second, it will become clear how the whole runner was also very much inspired from the way we applied those skills across a real world environment. The latter component, in fact, did a lot to give the creation a spectrum-wide presence, and as a result initiated a full-blown tech revolution. Of course, the next thing this revolution did was to scale up the human experience through some outright unique avenues, but even after achieving a feat so notable, technology will somehow continue to bring forth the right goods. The same has turned more and more evident in recent times, and assuming one new AI-themed development ends up with the desired impact, it will only put that trend on a higher pedestal moving forward.
Box, the leading Content Cloud, has officially announced a new integration with Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service to bring the latter’s advanced large language models to Box AI platform. According to certain reports, the stated integration won’t just allow Box’s customers to leverage the most advanced large language models, but it will also combine the partners’ enterprise-grade standards for security, privacy, and compliance. Talk about the possible use cases of such a technology, we begin from the one it has in financial sector, where companies can bank upon the new combined solution to extract insights from reports that include market trends, economic indicators, and historical financial data etc. These insights, once generated, can go a long way to manufacture a summary highlighting projections and potential risks. Next up, life sciences organizations can use the AI technology to access clinical trial data and expedite analysis of the same for a more comprehensive and efficient understanding of trial outcomes. Then, there is a possibility for public sector agencies to analyze feedback from constituents and policy research before producing insights that can later guide evidence-based microscopic decisions, as well as policy development on a national scale. Among other beneficiaries of Box-Microsoft integration, we have insurance companies that can take those capabilities to find key information in claims reports. Having this information at our disposal should, in turn, enhance efficiency, reduce turnaround times, and provide a smoother experience for both parties. More on identifying key information, legal firms can also trust the new integration to automatically spot key terms, clauses, and relevant information within those complex legal texts. Given the automation angle, the stated firms can, to a substantial degree, reduce the time and effort they usually expend on legal research, thus empowering attorneys to focus on more strategic aspects of their cases.
These functions take up a much greater significance, if you put them alongside the fact that, as of today, more than 115,000 enterprises trust Box AI to secure, store, and collaborate on their critical business content. Apart from users we already referred to, this customer base is made up of product marketing managers who bank upon it to generate fresh and editable content quickly in the form of blogs, LinkedIn posts, and other social media, and HR leaders who turn to the platform for searching massive amounts of sensitive documents, including Intranet content, company policies, and employee handbooks in order to find the answers employees need most. Even non-profit outreach specialists can leverage Box AI to efficiently draft communications, track donor engagement, and analyze donor data.
“With generative AI innovating at a rapid pace, we are committed to providing technology that organizations of any size can rely on,” said John Montgomery, corporate vice president of AI platform at Microsoft. “We are excited to see Box leveraging the power of Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service to further enhance the Box Content Cloud. This collaboration underscores our shared commitment to providing advanced, secure, and trusted solutions for enterprises, empowering them to unlock the full potential of their content.”
The development in question delivers a rather interesting follow-up to all the integrations Box has already built in conjunction with Microsoft. Geared towards scaling up productivity and collaboration, the list involves a Teams integration which lets Box customers streamline collaboration by accessing and sharing Box content directly in Teams channels or chats. As a part of this effort, the company further sets the stage for users to easily access, create, edit, and collaborate in real-time on Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files. Markedly enough, they can do so on the Box web app, mobile or desktop, with all edits auto-saved to Box. There is also an Outlook integration to eliminate the risks and hassle of email attachments by converting outbound attachments to Box shared links. Not just that, it also ensures that you are able to maintain version control by saving incoming attachments to Box from any device. For the future, Box plans on integrating with Microsoft Copilot as well.
“Not too long ago, our organization was discussing the business imperative to embracing digital transformation by sunsetting legacy workflows and investing in a content cloud platform that enables secure and seamless collaboration from anywhere,” said Matt Hoey, Assistant Vice President of Technology at Marx|Okubo Associates. “As the leader in this space, we chose Box to ensure we could achieve our transformation, and without knowing it at the time, this would be a critical decision that allowed us to maintain business continuity during an unforeseen global pandemic. We see Box AI as a similarly massive value-add to our technology stack.”
Making the whole thing all the more important is, of course, Box’s existing stature as a leading Content Cloud that has, at present, more than 1,500 different integrations. To further contextualize the company’s excellence, we can also look at its clientele, which includes the leading players like AstraZeneca, JLL, Morgan Stanley, Nationwide, Broadcom, Intuit, and many others.
