Toyota has officially launched its latest sedan named Crown, which offers two electrified powertrains, including the Hybrid Max system. According to certain reports, the stated model comes decked up in three different grades i.e. XLE, Limited, and Platinum. Starting from XLE, it is given 2.5-liter Toyota Hybrid System, Electronic On-Demand All-Wheel Drive, three selectable drive modes, 19-inch alloy wheels, heated, and powered woven fabric front seats and a Multimedia System boasting 12.3-inch touchscreen and 6 speakers. Next up, the Limited grade has each one of XLE’s features, and alongside that, it offers   multibeam LED headlights, a fixed panoramic roof, leather-trimmed seats that are heated and ventilated up front and heated in the rear, and a 11-speaker JBL® Premium audio system. Furthermore, there are these rain-sensing windshield wipers and Front and Rear Parking Assist with Automatic Braking. More notably, the Limited grade lets you access traffic jam assist, lane change assist, and front cross traffic capabilities. For traffic jam, it provides hands-free control of steering, braking and acceleration on controlled access freeways. Design to automatically activate at the speed of 25 mph or lower, the feature eliminates any need for you to stress about stop-and-go traffic. When it comes to lane change, Toyota’s Crown partially engages the turn signal so to gauge whether a vehicle is coming your way or not before safely guiding you into the other lane. For front cross traffic, the car detects vehicles that may be approaching from the side, thus allowing you to enter traffic at intersections with optimal safety. Moving on to the platinum grade, it has everything offered by the previous two grades. However, unlike them, this one also has the Hybrid MAX powertrain, Full-Time Electronic All-Wheel Drive, six selectable drive modes, Advanced Park, 21-inch machined 10-spoke alloy wheels with black accents and the available bi-tone paint option.

Another detail worth a mention here is how, in order to keep the driver and passenger sight lines stable, Toyota’s Crown is handed a suspension which includes a MacPherson strut in the front and a multilink rear suspension in the rear. Across XLE and Limited grades, we have swing valve shock absorbers to conceive a smooth ride. On the Platinum grade, though, we have Adaptive Variable Suspension, which contains variable oil pressure shock absorbers to automatically control the friction within the absorber. Apart from that, there is a linear solenoid type actuator to minimize body pitch and roll. Within the vehicle, the Crown offers comprehensive comfort through standard 8-way power adjustable driver and front passenger seats. Available across all grades and accessible via a dedicated control panel, the car also has a dual-zone climate control option, alongside a 12.3-inch color multi information display. Staying on the MID, drivers can select different displays with the push of a button, including a Hybrid System Indicator showing the driver system output and regeneration status to encourage eco-driving habits.

The hybrid system in question is notably handed the means to deliver smooth and powerful torque-filled acceleration for a 0-60 time of 5.7 seconds, while simultaneously staying mindful about fuel efficiency with an EPA-estimated 30 MPG combined rating.

Anyway, Toyota Crown’s cabin also has you covered when it comes to charging your devices on the move. The car features a vertical-type wireless Qi charger, alongside standard USB-Type A and 12V charging port inside the console. In regards to multimedia capabilities, there is an option to establish dual Bluetooth phone connectivity, an option further complimented by support for wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ solutions. Then, there is a WifiConnect subscription which delivers 4G connectivity for up to five devices. However, that’s not the only service in play, considering vehicle owners can also access the SiriusXM® Platinum Plan 3-month trial subscription.

Beyond that, Toyota Crown has a whole assortment of safety features too. For instance, it has a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection. This element not only helps in detecting a pedestrian or a vehicle, but if the driver is unable to react, the system can also provide automatic emergency braking. Partnering that is s full-speed range dynamic radar cruise control (DRCC). DRCC is an adaptive cruise control system meant to be primarily used on highways, Operable at a speed of 20 mph or more, the stated feature leverages vehicle-to-vehicle distance control to maintain a preset distance from the vehicle ahead of you. There is also a road sign assist angle which can detect speed limit signs, stop signs, do not enter signs, yield signs and various other warning signs before displaying them on the multi information display.
